Tulip Poplar Leaf While walking the trails at the NC Arboretum this fall, I picked up several tulip poplar leaves along with sassafras, rhododendron, oak and maple, all of which had brilliant colors as we work our way to a glorious fall. This leaf was drawn using the stipple technique with pen and ink and then filled in with colored pencils.
